Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan admits that they cannot force buffer zones to participate in the re-implementation of large-scale social constraints (PSBB) total.

He said that each region has its respective authority regarding the response to the corona virus pandemic (COVID-19).

“There is no authority for DKI to impose elsewhere. Therefore, we have never asked because it is the authority for each region,” Anies said at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Friday (9/11).

Anies, along with various heads of buffer regions such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, held a coordination meeting on DKI’s plan to hold the PSBB again on Thursday (9/10) evening.

However, based on the results of the meeting, a decision has not been made on whether the buffer area will follow similar steps from DKI to re-implement the full PSBB in order to reduce the transmission of the corona virus (Covid-19 ).

Regarding the results of the meeting, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya said that the regional heads of Jabodetabek agreed to ask DKI to coordinate with the central government first.

At the meeting also attended by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and Banten Governor Wahidin Halim, Bima said Anies planned to coordinate with the central government on Saturday (December 9). Subsequently, the regional governments will meet again on Monday (9/14).

Regarding the full implementation of PSBB, Anies explained that his party’s plan would continue. Furthermore, he said, the PSBB in Jakarta had never actually been revoked.

“God willing it will be like the plan that the PSBB in Jakarta has never been revoked, Jakarta still has the PSBB status from April 10 until now. So we are not starting anything new,” Anies said.

The addition of positive daily cases in Jakarta is known to continue to rise. Since the beginning of September, positive cases have risen to 1,000 cases per day.

It is known that the positive cases of Covid-19 in DKI until Friday (9/11) reached 51,635, with 39,128 recovered and 1,368 dead.

Anies’ decision to re-implement the PSBB was also based on several things. Among them is the projection that referral hospitals in Jakarta will not be able to survive until September 17, 2020.

Earlier, announcing the plan to remove the ’emergency brake’, that is, to re-implement the PSBB, Anies cited a message from Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“The president firmly stated two days ago that the economy must not start before health is under control,” Anies said during a press conference broadcast on the official YouTube account of the DKI Jakarta provincial government on Wednesday (9 / 9).

Later today, President Jokowi, through his spokesman, Fadjroel Rachman, said that Social Restrictions at the Microscale (PSBM) or communities are applied more effectively to discipline the health protocol to prevent Covid-19.

The same term PSBM has been applied by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, in various areas of West Java. This step is considered effective in reducing the transmission rate of covid-19.

“The president emphasized, based on empirical experience and expert opinion during the management of the Covid-19 pandemic, social restrictions at the micro / community scale are more effective in implementing the discipline of health protocols,” he said Fadjroel through a short message to journalists, on Friday (9/11).
