The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta will reimpose large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) for a total of 14 September. Strict implementation of the PSBB can be enforced for two weeks or more.
“So in fact, the conditions in the last two weeks are worrying. This is different from the previous situation. That is why we plan to toughen it up for the next two weeks,” DKI Governor Anies Baswedan told reporters. at City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Friday (9/11/2020).
Anies called on the people of Jakarta to stay home to reduce the transmission rate of COVID-19.
“So that’s why it’s important that we stay home first for the last two weeks. By being home first, the hope is that this transmission potential can be suppressed,” he said.
Anies said the strict PSBB could be extended again. She said that there were several considerations related to implementing this strict PSBB.
“But I also want to emphasize, do not expect that after two weeks, it will be over. No. But if this incredible speed is not going to slow down, then this will continue. Also, we know that there is capacity for beds for hospital care, capacity for beds in the ICUs are limited, “he added.
