BOLASPORT.COM – Monster Energy Yamaha rider Maverick Vinales became the owner of the fastest time in the first free practice session of the 2020 San Marino MotoGP.

The sixth series of MotoGP San Marino 2020 races at the Misano circuit opens with a free training session o free practice 1 (FP1) on Friday (11/9/2020).

Red Bull KTM rider Pol Espargaró set a lap time of 1 minute 34.115 seconds as the first benchmark for riders in the FP1 MotoGP San Marino.

For information, the record for the fastest lap time at Misano is 1 minute 31,629 set by Jorge Lorenzo in 2018.

Two Yamaha riders, Maverick Vinales (Monster Energy Yamaha) and Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) didn’t want to lose.

Viñales and Quartararo took turns setting the record for fastest lap times in the FP1 MotoGP San Marino session.

Viñales logged a time of 1 minute 33.479 seconds while the session lasted 15 minutes to make his way to the top.

Going into the first 20 minutes, a scene similar to last season’s race was seen when four Yamaha riders controlled the top group.
