BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – Indonesia is currently developing a Covid-19 vaccine, both the red and white vaccine and the vaccine in collaboration with several countries, one of which is China.
If this vaccine is tested and produced successfully, there will be two schemes to inject vaccines to the public.
“There are government-assisted vaccines, as well as stand-alone vaccines,” said Executive Director of the Committee for the Management of Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Erick Thohir in a scientific sentence at the Dies Natalis of the University of Padjajaran. which was delivered virtually on Friday (11/9/2020).

Erick explained that the government-assisted vaccine is intended for a mass vaccination program.
The source of financing comes from the State Income and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
The stand-alone vaccine is aimed at people who can afford it, so it does not need to be subsidized by the government.
“We beat the hearts of (wealthy people) to help the government by paying for it ourselves,” Erick said.

Erick said that, based on the results of their talks with various employers’ organizations and others, they promised to pay themselves.
In fact, for the vaccine needs of their employees, these employers will prepare their own budget to reduce the burden on the government.
This is because government revenue has also decreased, including tax revenue, which has been reduced by 12 percent.
“For this mass vaccination, up to 1.5 million doctors, nurses and midwives in Indonesia are willing to help,” said Erick.
Erick said that for the Sinovac vaccine, Indonesia will receive an additional 20 million doses by the end of the year.
Then in 2021 there will be an additional 250 million doses.
