Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
City government (Pemkot) Bekasi, West Java does not rule out the possibility of following the DKI Jakarta provincial government policy of re-implementing social restrictions on a large scale (PSBB).
“The Bekasi city government will not rule out the possibility of doing something similar to DKI Jakarta that toughens the PSBB,” Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi said in a written statement on Thursday (9/10).
He said that currently the Bekasi City Government needs to review the results of the Covid-19 management assessment for further meetings with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) on Monday (9/14).
“Statement Governor Anies Baswedan stated that the Covid-19 case was due to interactions with partner regions, including those that will be used as assessment materials for the Bekasi city government in a meeting with Forkopimda, “Rahmat said.
In addition, he explained that by accelerating the management of Covid-19, the Bekasi City Government is still implementing the adaptation of a new order of life (ATHB) for the Safe Productive Community from Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19). This ATHB is valid from September 3 to October 2.
“The consideration in this decision is that to accelerate the management of Covid-19 that supports the sustainability of the people’s economy, ATHB will be implemented in the city of Bekasi, which synergizes the health, social and economic aspects,” Rahmat said .
Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, re-implemented the full PSBB in the capital of the Republic of Indonesia. This step is known as the emergency brake for the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“At this afternoon’s meeting it was concluded: we will remove the emergency brake. We are forced to re-apply large-scale restrictions as the start of the pandemic. Not the transitional PSBB, but the PSBB as it was in the past. This is the emergency brake that we pulled out, “Anies told a news conference Wednesday. (9/9) night.
By implementing the PSBB, Anies again limited the commercial sectors that could operate as of Monday (9/14).
It only allows to operate with restrictions to 11 sectors. Anies also prohibited the opening of entertainment venues, cafes and restaurants not allowed to eat on the premises, as well as restrictions on places of worship.
Other restrictions on traffic and movement of public transport also apply during the Jakarta PSBB.
