BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 vaccine clinical trial team from Sinovac, China explained the news circulating about Covid-19 vaccine volunteers who were exposed to the corona virus.
In fact, these volunteers have received the Covid-19 vaccines.
“The volunteer after receiving the first injection (unknown vaccine or placebo) traveled out of the city,” said Thursday the Head of the Research Team of Clinical Trials for Phase 3 of the Covid-19 Vaccine of the Unpad School of Medicine. , Prof. Kusnandi Rusmil in a statement (9/10/2020).
Kusnandi explained that, at the second injection visit, the volunteers were clinically healthy and received a second injection.

The next day, the volunteers underwent a nasopharyngeal swab screening program from the Health Office because they had a history of being out of town.
The officer took the material from the nasal swab and then sent it to the BSL2 laboratory with a positive result. These results are passed on to interested parties.
The person is now in self-isolation and is closely monitored every day. During 9 days of follow-up, the volunteers were in good condition.
“So the results of a positive nasal smear do not come from the research team, but from the government program of nasopharyngeal swabs,” he said.
Kusnandi recalled that in clinical trials there were two groups, namely those who received placebo and vaccines.
This clinical trial is conducted in principle blind observer or disguised, so it is not known which received the placebo and which received the vaccine.
“Therefore, all volunteers are urged to apply the preventive protocol recommended by the government,” he said.
