Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan implement large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) returned as an emergency brake step related to the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic.
“At this afternoon’s meeting it was concluded: We will remove the emergency brake. We are forced to re-apply large-scale restrictions such as the start of the pandemic. Not the transitional PSBB, but the PSBB as it was in the past. This is the emergency brake that we pulled out, “Anies said at a regularly held press conference. online, Wednesday (9/9).
“So considering this emergency, there are not many options for Jakarta to hit the emergency brake as soon as possible,” Anies said.
In this regard, Anies also stated that it would temporarily remove traffic restrictions based on odd and even police numbers and limit public transportation.
“This requires coordination between Jabodetabek relations and the neighbors. And, God willing, tomorrow we will coordinate the implementation of the hardening phase in the future. We still have time. I hope the office managers are ready to impose restrictions,” he said .
The PSBB policy that later continued with the PSBB transition was one of the efforts of the DKI Provincial Government to reduce the spread of the corona virus. However, in recent days, the number of positive cases of Covid-19 has registered the largest increase on record.
In fact, Jakarta has once again become the province with the highest cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases with 48,393 people. Of these, 36,383 people were declared cured and 1,317 people died.
As of Tuesday (8/9), Jakarta had 11,030 active cases or positive patients with Covid-19 that were treated and isolated.
Meanwhile, the number of people tested by PCR in the past week was 55,424 people or above the WHO target for Jakarta, at least 10,645 people were tested per week.
Meanwhile, the percentage of positive Covid-19 cases in the last week was 13.2 percent.
Most of the positive Covid-19 cases in the capital city come from clusters of offices. This is inseparable from the policy of facilitating community activities taken by Anies in phase one of PSBB transition.
The increase in positive cases is also inseparable from the number of tests carried out by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta. Jakarta is the province with the highest number of Covid-19 tests compared to other provinces.
Aside from the growing number of positive cases, DKI is now beginning to lack a special graveyard for Covid-19 patients. The Pondok Ranggon TPU, East Jakarta, which has been designated as a Covid-19 special cemetery, only leaves around 1,100 holes.
Currently, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta is increasing the area of land for burial with the Covid-19 protocol at Pondok Ranggon TPU.
