The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Level 3 Travel Alert for Indonesia. This means that citizens of the United States (US) are advised to avoid or postpone visiting Indonesia because there is a high risk of transmission of the Corona COVID-19 virus.

“If you get sick in Indonesia, available resources may be limited. Plan carefully and learn how to get health services abroad,” the CDC wrote on its official website.

Regarding the possibility of limited health services in Indonesia, Wiku said that no country has health facilities prepared to face a pandemic.

“We ask for the understanding of all Indonesian citizens so that they can protect their respective regions. Their mobility is limited only to making essential trips and actually carrying out health protocols,” Wiku said in a press conference broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, on Tuesday (8/9). / 2020).

“So that there are no additional new cases because all health facilities in Indonesia and other countries are completely limited. The only way is for us to protect ourselves and the surrounding community,” he concluded.

The COVID-19 Management Working Group reported that the growth of new Corona cases in Indonesia in the last week increased by 18.6 percent compared to the previous week. Bali, in particular, is in the spotlight because it has seen a sharp increase of more than 100 percent.

In more detail, Wiku explained that in a week at the end of August, Indonesia recorded 18,625 new cases of COVID-19. Now, in the last week, the new cases reported in early September reached 22,097.
