Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa has officially fallen penalty fee to Regent of Jember, Farida.
Khofifah was sanctioned by the Jember Regent for delaying discussing the 2020 Regional Budget Plan.
The sanctions are contained in letter number: 700/1713 / 060/2020 on the imposition of administrative sanctions on the regent of Jember, which Khofifah signed on September 2, 2020.
This sanction decree is in line with the Interior Minister’s letter number 970/4702 / SJ on the follow-up of the problems in Jember Regency and the inspection report of the East Java province.
Khofifah said the sanctions apply not only to the Regent of Jember, but also to all regional chiefs in Indonesia who are late in conducting discussions that are deemed to have violated the Regional Spending Budget Plan.
“Because the regulation is like that. The sanction is for regional chiefs who are late in presenting the General Policy on the Priority of the Temporary Budget Limit (KUA PPASujar Khofifah in Surabaya, Tuesday (8/9)”.

There are at least four decrees of the Governor of East Java, namely:
First, the imposition of administrative sanctions, in the form of not paying financial rights for six months to the Regent of Faida Jember, Dr. Faida MMR.
Second, the imposition of these sanctions was due to the delay of the Jember district chief in the process of preparing the Draft Regional Regulations of the Jember Regency on the Regional Budget for Fiscal Year 2020.
Third, unpaid economic rights include basic salary, work allowance, other allowances, fees, operational support costs, and other financial rights in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.
Fourth, the decree of this governor enters into force on the stipulation date, that is, on September 2, 2020.
Jember DPRD Vice President Ahmad Halim also confirmed that his party had received a letter which was copied to them by the East Java provincial government.
“It has been decided by the governor as the representative of the central government. The DPRD sees this issue as clear. So that the people do not need controversy,” Halim said briefly when confirmed.
