JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo almost forgot to greet Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

This happened when the president opened the initial meeting on the review of the management and responsibility of state finances in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic, at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (8/9/2020).

After delivering his opening greetings, as usual, President Jokowi greeted the officials who attended the event one by one.

However, Jokowi immediately greeted the presidents, vice presidents and members of the Higher Audit Agency. In fact, Jokowi should have greeted Ma’ruf Amin first.

Realizing his mistake, Jokowi immediately apologized to Ma’ruf, who was sitting not far from the podium.

“I am sorry the vice president almost forgot. I respect the vice president of the Republic of Indonesia,” Jokowi said as he looked at Ma’ruf.

After greeting Ma’ruf, Jokowi continued to greet the advanced ministers of the Indonesian cabinet, as well as the heads of non-ministerial institutions.

In his comments, Jokowi stated that he supported the BPK investigation as soon as possible.

According to him, this examination is very important in efforts to deal with Covid-19 and economic recovery.

“For this review to support the implementation of activities to find solutions for new and better ways to deal with the crisis,” said Jokowi.
