JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed that he will continue with social assistance or social assistance programs in 2021.
For this reason, Jokowi has also allocated a budget of IDR 419.31 billion in the next Draft State Budget of 2021. The extension of the government assistance program also received the approval of the Indonesian Parliament.
The coordinating minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said the decision was made with the consideration that the Covid-19 case would continue to advance, although the government also expects a vaccine next year.

The following are 4 BLT programs that will continue next year:
1. 600,000 IDR salary subsidy
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s wage subsidy assistance targets private employees with salaries below IDR 5 million. This BLT disbursement began on August 27 and was carried out gradually until the end of September 2020.
The government has prepared a budget of Rs 37.7 trillion for the wage subsidy assistance program, and the number of beneficiaries reaches 15.7 million workers registered as active participants of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in June 2020.
Beneficiaries of this employee wage subsidy will receive an aid of 600,000 IDR per month for 4 months. Payment is made in 2 stages or 1.2 million IDR per distribution.
2. Pre-employment card
The government launched the Pre-Employment Card to help those affected by the pandemic, especially employees who were laid off and unemployed. Participants in this program will receive a job training incentive of Rs 1 million per month.

The government provides funds of 3,550,000 IDRs for participants who qualify as beneficiaries of the Pre-Employment Card 2020. Specifically, 1,000,000 IDRs are used to pay for online training for the Pre-Employment Card. So the rest is for incentives.
The incentive for the pre-work card consists of two parts, namely the incentive for after completing the first training of 600,000 IDR per month for 4 months (2,400,000 IDR).

All assistance can be received after participants complete the Pre-Employment Card training. Assistance money is transferred to a BNI Bank account. Additionally, aid can also be disbursed through other government-designated platforms.
3. BLT UMKM
The government assists UMKM entrepreneurs through a BLT grant or disbursement fund program. The scheme consists of the MSME assistance disbursement of Rs 2.4 million, which is transferred through an account.
This government assistance is aimed at helping small businesses from the negative effects of the corona virus pandemic. A total of 12 million MSMEs will receive this assistance.
The government has started distributing assistance to MSMEs worth 2.4 million rupees. The goal is to distribute BLT UMKM Rp. 2.4 million to 12 million microentrepreneurs.
In phase I, these grants were awarded to around 742,422 actors in total from MSMEs. Donations are disbursed through the accounts of the respective microentrepreneurs. Meanwhile, for phase II, he said, it is currently in the processing stage (assistance 2.4 million).

4. Cash assistance
The government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, distributes social assistance, namely, social assistance in cash (BST) worth 500,000 IDR or social assistance 500,000 IDR for people who are not beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH).
The BLT for non-PKH commodities is targeted at 9 million beneficiary households (KPM). Each recipient received cash funds of IDR 500,000 (BLT IDR 500,000).
In addition to the cash welfare program, the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to run regular programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) and non-cash food assistance (BPNT).
The total budget for cash welfare (BST) for 9 million beneficiary families (KPM) is 4.5 billion IDR. This cash welfare is made once for the beneficiary’s family.
