Professor Abdul Malik Fadjar passes away

Former member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Professor Abdul Malik Fadjar, passed away on Monday (7/9/2020) at 19:00 WIB earlier. He died at the age of 81.

The news of Abdul Malik Fadjar’s death was relayed by Muhammadiyah General Secretary Abdul Mu’ti on Monday evening (7/9/2020) to SINDOnews.

“The news I received was that he died at 7:00 pm. Please pray for him husnul hatimah and get the best place in the sight of Allah,” Abdul Mu’ti said through his written statement.

According to Mu’ti, Malik Fadjar was a Muhammadiyah figure who was very large, persistent, and lived a simple life.

“He is an example for the people of the Corporation, the ummah and the nation. Muhammadiyah is very lost,” he said.

During his lifetime, Malik Fadjar held various positions, namely Minister of National Education of the Cabinet of Mutual Cooperation (2001-2004), Minister of Religion of the Cabinet of Development Reform (1998-1999), Rector of Muhammadiyah Malang University (1983-2000).
