JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has confirmed that the construction of the Kertajati West Java International Airport (BIJB) Access toll road can connect the Cikampek-Palimanan (Cipali) and Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan ( Cisumdawu) in 2021.
The construction of this toll road is one of the development visions of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the next five years to continue with the development of the infrastructure, including the connection of the toll roads with productive areas and growth centers .
This connectivity is the expansion of the reach of the Cipali toll road of 3.7 kilometers, with an additional 3.35 kilometers of ramp built.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the construction of the airport access toll highway over the next year coincides with the goal of completing the construction of the Cisumdawu toll highway by the end of 2021.
“With the completion of the Cisumdawu toll road and connected to the Kertajati airport access toll road, the travel time from Bandung will be reduced from 3 hours to 1 hour,” Basuki said in a received press release. Kompas.com, Monday (7/9/2020).
Basuki made sure that infrastructure development, including toll roads, was not stopped amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In fact, efforts have been made to develop access to the highway through the Intensive Program for Effective Work (PKT) scheme.
Astra Infra Group CEO Djap Tet Fa said that the construction of the toll road access to BIJB Kertajati, connected to the Cipali toll road, starts at kilometer 158 + 700 with a width of 3.6 meters and It has 4 lanes for two directions.
“Part of the implementation will be carried out with the PKT scheme to absorb labor. Construction is scheduled for 12 months until November 2021,” said Djap.
Even so, in July 2021, it is expected that the functionality and operational feasibility tests will be carried out for the departure of the pilgrims from the province of West Java.
The construction of this toll road will take 12 months with a project value of 692 billion rupees.
The acquisition of land for 35.89 hectares will be carried out by the Provincial Government of West Java (Pemprov).

The construction was carried out by PT Lintas Marga Sedaya as the concessionaire and also PT PP (Persero) Tbk and PT ACSET Indonusa Tbk as the execution contractor.
With the existence of this toll road, it is expected that it can simplify and speed up access to Kertajati Airport, which currently uses arterial roads.
In addition, it can improve connectivity and develop the economic potential of the surrounding area, as well as provide job opportunities during construction and after operations.
