KOMPAS.com – The PDI-P Jember DPC spoke in relation to Regent Faida’s statement, which stated that billions of rupees were needed to obtain a recommendation to advance the regional elections.

Former PDI-P chief Jember DPC who brought in Faida-Abdul Muqit at Pilkada 2015, Tabroni still remembers when Faida registered as a candidate for regent in his office.

At that time, PDI-P accepted the registration of Faida who was paired with Muqit. The couple was supported by PDI-P, Nasdem, and Hanura.

They carry the suitability test from the provincial level to the central level.

“In the process, Faida did not issue a single rupee for the recommendation to reach him,” Tabroni told PDI-P DPC Jember on Sunday night (9/6/2020).

Tabroni was surprised by Faida’s statement. According to him, the regent who advanced the independent route in the Pilkada 2020 simultaneously committed a public lie.

He asked Faida to prove his statement.

“Show us who you spent the money on,” he explained.

Tabroni still remembers Faida’s statement when he received a recommendation from the PDI-P in 2015. At that time, Faida said, there was no political dowry.

“If he said he needed billions of money, we PDI-P in 2015 issued a recommendation without a dowry of not even one rupee,” explained this DPRD member.

According to Tabroni, members of the PDI-P DPRD in Jember and East Java actually provided financial assistance to support the Faida campaign.

In fact, DPP PDI-P also provided funds to DPC PDI-P Jember to win the Faida-Muqit pair.

DPD President Nasdem Jember Marzuki was also shocked by Faida’s statement. He stressed that the regent’s statement was not true.

Faida, she said, also claimed that there was no dowry in her 2015 bid.

“In 2015, in Faida’s statement, there were Nasdem and PDI-P without a dowry,” Marzuki told Jember KPU, on Friday (4/9/2020).

Previously reported, Jember Faida’s regent said billions of rupees were needed to get recommendations from political parties to move forward in regional elections.

This statement was made when he was a speaker at a webinar held by the socio-political research institute Cakra Wikara Indonesia on August 25, 2020.

Subsequently, the video of Faida’s statement went viral on instant messaging applications. WhatsApp.

In the video, Faida said, the costs incurred to obtain the support of political parties were not comparable to the income of regional chiefs.

“At a cost of tens of billions, I make sure it is difficult to become a leader of integrity, if you start the election in a dishonorable way, buy a chance,” Faida said, quoted in the video.

When confirmed, Faida admitted that he did not intend to offend anyone with this statement.

“I conveyed this not to offend anyone, but as a personal experience,” Faida said after registering for the regional chief candidates at the Jember KPU on Sunday (6/9/2020).

According to him, the statement came from personal experiences and points of view.

“That is my purely personal opinion, people can agree and criticize,” he said.
