The government provides assistance and wage subsidies to MSMEs until 2021

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The coordinating Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the government will continue to provide assistance to MSMEs and wage subsidies until the first quarter of 2021.

This was broadcast by Airlangga after a meeting with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (7/9/2020).

“The follow-up program that is a priority for Bansos is one, the cash assistance related to UMKM Banpres will continue. Second, the Salary Subsidy Assistance will continue in the first quarter of next year,” Airlangga said through the channel YouTube of the Presidential Secretariat.

In addition, the government will also continue with regular programs, such as the provision of scheduled assistance in the Family Hope Program (PKH).

Airlangga said that with this help, the government hopes that people’s purchasing power will be maintained.

“Therefore, these programs are expected to maintain the purchasing power of people in a situation with the Covid pandemic,” he continued.

Previously, President Joko Widodo asked the Covid-19 and the National Economic Recovery Task Force to prioritize health over economic recovery.
