While watching Portugal in the stands, Ronaldo was caught without a mask and had to be warned by the officials.

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo received a warning from officials after he was caught without a mask while watching Portugal’s match in the UEFA Nations League.

Ronaldo did not play in the game against Croatia on Saturday (9/5), after suffering an infection in the big toe from a bee sting. He could only sit in the stands while his teammates wrestled on the field.

Goals from Joao Cancelo, Diogo Jota, Joao Felix and Andre Silva ensured that the defending UEFA Nations League champions won 4-1 over Croatia.

During the match, Ronaldo drew attention after television cameras approached him and asked him to wear a mask in accordance with the Covid-19 protocol.

Ronaldo seemed upset by the official’s warning, but immediately reached for a mask and wore it until the end of the match.

Portugal will then face host Sweden on Tuesday (9/8), but Ronaldo is unlikely to be fit to play.

“I’m not resting him. If he’s in good shape, he can get into the lineup and compete,” Portugal coach Fernando Santos told reporters. RTP.

“Today he trained, felt better and will leave Sweden. We will see. He has to recover from the infection if he wants to play.”

If he is absent against Sweden, Ronaldo will miss the opportunity to score his 100th goal for Portugal.

Currently, the Juventus forward has scored 99 goals in 164 games for his country.
