jpnn.com, JAKARTA – A team of geologists from the West Java Provincial Government will also investigate the exact cause of the mud flow that shocked residents in Jalan Lembur 1, Jatirangga Village, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City, on Saturday (5/9).

“This is different from the Lapindo mud flow, it is not (dangerous), if the water is normal, it is like water mixed with mud,” said the head of the Jatisampurna Wahyudin sub-district.

Wahyudin relayed this in response to the mud flow that had shocked residents in Jalan Lembur 1, Jatirangga Village, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City, on Saturday (5/9).

In the video uploaded by the account Instagtam @ infobekasi.coo, you can see a torrent of mud rising from the ground in the middle of a residential area.

The head of Jatisampurna Wahyudin said the mud flow came out when local residents were drilling into the ground to make a water well.

“So once (the drilling depth is already) 70 meters, first it comes out as gas, then gas runs out, then water and mud,” Wahyudin said when confirmed Saturday.

Wahyudin added that initially the height of the mud flow reached ten meters. But as time passed, the gusts gradually grew weaker and diminished.

Mud spray occurs due to the effects of natural gas found in the ground. The gas that comes out causes the water and the earth to mix and create a dew.
