KOMPAS.com – Karawang Regent Cellica Nurrachadiana confirmed that he received a warning from the Interior Ministry for the mass procession when he checked into KPU Karawang, on Saturday (5/9/2020).
Cellica said he was contacted on Friday morning by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil to inform him of the warning.
“The governor of West Java called me this morning to convey a warning letter from the director general of the Interior Ministry. I also immediately clarified the director general of OTDA in the Interior Ministry about this letter,” Cellica said by phone on Saturday.

It has warned volunteers, supporters and the public to only view the registration process from home via live streams from social media and the KPU Karawang YouTube channel.
For the reprimand, Cellica apologized and promised that the same thing would not be repeated.
Cellica and the team admitted that they were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the supporters who could not be stopped.

Still, he forced his supporters to wear masks and simply stay in the car, without having to get off in front of KPU Karawang.
Most of the supporters and volunteers, Cellica said, were in the car and alongside their motorcycles. However, some have dropped.
Cellica confirmed that during the registration process at KPU Karawang there were no crowds.
So that this incident does not happen again, Cellica will withdraw directly to encourage volunteers to witness the stages of the local elections virtually.
“As soon as they enter through the KPU (Karawang) gate, they will immediately use the health protocol. Those who enter are very limited,” he said. (Karawang Contributing Writer, Farida Farhan | Editor Robertus Belarminus)
