JAKARTA – The Supreme Court (MA rejected Mellya’s cassation petition against Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS). Therefore, UAS and Mellya were officially divorced by state law.
Quoted by detikcom, Supreme Court spokesman Andi Samsan Nganro said that the panel of judges in this case was chaired by Amran Suaidi, with panel members Mukti Arto and Abdul Manaf.
“ Case number 537 K / AG / 2020 was decided on August 28, ” Andi Samsan Nganro said, when contacted by detik.com, on Friday (4/9/2020).
On appeal, the panel corrected a number of orders, namely:
1. Mutah money (divorce money, red) of Rs 60 crore.
2. Child support in the amount of Rs 5 million per month until the child is an adult / independent or 21 years of age, which was not previously determined by the court of appeal / high religious. This monthly fee excludes health and education expenses.
3. Alimony during the iddah period amounting to Rs 15 million.
4. The cost of housing (maskan) and clothing (kiswah) during the iddah period is 15 million rupees.
The iddah period is the waiting period for the widow to remarry, generally calculated to be three months from the moment of divorce, assuming the widow is pregnant with her ex-husband or not.
As is known, UAS married Mellya in 2016. From that marriage, they were blessed with a son. Over time, the fall of the home cracked and led to the UAS divorce.
Mellya did not accept it and submitted an objection to the Religious Court of Bangkinang (PA). However, Mellya’s efforts ran aground. PA Bangkinang divorced the two at the end of 2019.
Mellya did not accept and filed an appeal. But the Pekanbaru High Religious Court (PTA) rejected Mellya’s appeal. The last step was taken by Mellya when she appealed to the Supreme Court, but she also ran aground. ***
