Party faction member Democrats RPD RI Bambang Purwanto regretted the statement made by the president of the Central Leadership Council of the PDI-P Mrs. Maharani what are you waiting for West Sumatra support the country Pancasila.
Bambang saw Puan’s words as proof that the PDIP was only using Pancasila as a tool to scare off political opponents.
“This statement is actually proof that Pancasila is vulnerable to being used as a tool to repress or scare people or political opponents,” Bambang told CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (4/9).
Bambang accused the PDIP of using Pancasila if its interests were disturbed, by questioning the loyalty of political opponents to Pancasila.
The Democratic Representative in the Legislative Body of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia also mentioned that the trend will increase if the Legal Plan of the Pancasila Ideological Development Agency (BPIP Bill) is approved.
“Especially if there is a BPIP Act, of course it is more legal to hit anyone who is not on the line,” he said.
Bambang emphasized that his party did not agree with Puan’s opinion. He believes West Sumatra has no doubt about Pancasila as the nation’s ideology.
“I am sure that the West Sumatra people in particular and the Indonesian people who are religious are certainly consistent in carrying out the values of Pancasila because the spirit of Pancasila is in the first precept, namely Almighty God,” he said. Bambang.
Earlier, Puan Maharani’s statement drew criticism after conveying hopes that West Sumatra will become a province that supports the state of Pancasila. He made this statement when announcing the pairs of candidates nominated by the PDIP.
“For the province of West Sumatra, recommendations are given to Ir. Mulyadi and Drs. H. Ali Mukhni. Freedom! May West Sumatra become a province that does support the state of Pancasila,” Puan said at an event conducted virtually by the PDIP DPP, on Wednesday (2/9).
In this year’s West Sumatra gubernatorial election, the PDIP will form a coalition with Democrats and the PKB. They will face the PKS-PPP coalition that supports Mahyeldi-Audy Joinaldi and the Gerindra Party that supports Nasrul Abit-Indra Catri.
