JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Up to 29 Indonesian army soldiers have been named as suspects in the alleged attack on police in Ciracas, East Jakarta, early Saturday (8/29/2020).

The suspects had previously been questioned by the Military Police Center (Puspomad) and have now been detained.

“Those who have been promoted as suspects and have requested the arrest of 29 troops,” said the commander of the Army Military Police (Danpuspomad), Lieutenant General Dodik Widjonarko, in a press conference broadcast by Kompas TV on Thursday (9 / 3/2020).

The appointment and detention of 29 TNI AD soldiers were based on the investigation and investigation of Puspomad from August 29 to September 2, 2020.

In total, 51 soldiers from 19 units were investigated in the destruction of the Ciracas Police Station and its surroundings.

“An in-depth examination of 21 staff members and 1 person was returned because their condition is a pure witness,” Dodik said.

The attack on the Ciracas Police Department itself began with a single accident suffered by a TNI member with the initials Prada MI, around Jalan Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, East Jakarta, to be precise near the Arundina traffic light crossing.

As a result of the accident, MI suffered injuries to his face and body. For its leadership, Prada MI admitted that it had only one accident.

However, MI passed on different information to colleagues.

MI admitted that several people attacked him. In addition to that, the soldiers also received information that insulted the TNI.

The soldiers did not first check the accuracy of the information about the accident. They were caused by false information.

The fake news infuriated the soldiers. Corsa’s soul is an excuse. In addition to destroying the police facilities, the masses also damaged businesses and attacked neighbors who passed by.

Reason for attack

From that examination, investigators also obtained the suspects’ motives for carrying out the attack.

There are at least four motives behind the raid on the Ciracas Police.

First, the suspects retaliated against Prada MI.

It was later discovered that Prada MI had broadcast false news about the pengroyokan he was experiencing.

Based on the results of the crime scene process (TKP) carried out by Detachment PM Jaya / II in conjunction with the East Jakarta Police, it was claimed that Prada MI had only one accident.

This has also been corroborated based on CCTV examinations at the crime scene and the statements of nine witnesses.

The second reason was that the suspects were unhappy and did not believe the Ciracas Police statement that Prada MI had only one accident.

The third reason is the mental factor of the suspects against Prada MI.

Finally, the motive of the suspects was to vent because they had been caused by the false news that had developed between them.

Layered item

As a result of this illegal act, the suspects are now threatened with multiple items.

First, they are suspects of article 170 of the Penal Code with the threat of a maximum penalty of five to six years.

Then the suspects are also charged under article 406 of the Penal Code concerning vandalism with a maximum penalty of 2 years and 8 months or a maximum fine of Rs 4,800.

“Those are two articles that are still being developed because until now, even today, we will investigate more about 15 of a total of 51 people questioned, of the 29 people we have identified as suspects,” said the commander of the Military Police of Kodam Jaya, Colonel CPM Andrey. Swatika Yogaswara was quoted from jabar.tribunnews.com, Thursday (3/9/2020).

Prada MI has not been named a suspect

So far, Puspomad has not made a legal decision against Prada MI. Investigators have not yet identified a member of the Indonesian Army Legal Director Unit because they are still in intensive care.

He was treated at Ridwan Meureksa Hospital in Kodam Jaya due to his only accident.

“So we as researchers must pay attention to human rights. Before the doctors say they are in good condition and healthy and can be examined, we will not check,” Dodik was quoted as saying on jabar.tribunnews.com.

“We will update later at the next meeting how the status of the myocardial infarction is after they leave the hospital,” Dodik continued.

Dodik said that based on existing legal regulations, Prada MI could not yet undergo an examination because it was still in treatment.

However, the researchers had previously conducted an examination. However, the review was not exhaustive.

During the initial examination, Prada MI was only questioned, leading to false news about the pengroyokan.

“So far we have been asked for related information to support that direction. But the Prada MI status upgrade has not yet been implemented because the reason is that he is still in medical care at Ridwan Meureksa Hospital,” Yogaswara said.

Navy and Air Force soldiers involved?

From the development of these investigations, it was also found that the authors of the attack on the Ciracas Police were suspected not only of involving soldiers of the Army’s TNI.

There are allegations of participation by soldiers from two other dimensions, namely the Indonesian Air Force (AU) and the Navy (AL).

The commander of the TNI Military Police Center (Danpuspom), TNI Major General Eddy Rate Muis, revealed that at least eight soldiers outside the TNI AD military dimension also attacked the Ciracas police station and its surroundings.

“Yesterday, the data entered was one person from the Air Force (AU) and seven from the Indonesian Navy (AL),” Eddy said.

Eddy added that his party has now coordinated with Puspom TNI AU and TNI AL to investigate the initial findings.

3 victims were treated at RSPAD

At least three people were victims as a result of this attack by TNI personnel.

All three are currently in intensive care at Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD), Jakarta.

The first victim with the initials M. was treated at the Police Hospital (RS) before being transferred to the Army Hospital on August 31, 2020.

“When we received it, we had a reassessment,” RSPAD Chief Lieutenant General TNI Bambang Tri Hasto said at a press conference broadcast on Kompas TV on Thursday (3/9/2020).

The Army Hospital carried out a new examination by means of a computed tomography of the head.

As a result, M’s head was reported to have no signs of brain abnormalities.

Now, M’s condition has gradually improved after undergoing intensive care.

Later, the second victim was Bripka T who also had time to be treated at the Police Hospital. It was transferred to RSPAD on August 31, 2020.

Bambang said that during the initial examination, Bripka T experienced eye trauma and there was a small wound on her right cheek.

So far, Bripka T has had significant discomfort to her right eye and fingers.

“A CT scan was performed, there are no visible signs of a head fracture or bleeding in the head. However, there is a round shadow in the maxillary cavity, under the right eye,” explained Bambang.

Furthermore, the third victim was a member of the National Police with the rank of Bripda.

He was operated on at the Police Hospital due to a ruptured blood vessel in his right thigh.

However, after surgery, the respiratory saturation of these patients decreased by 70 percent.

Subsequently, the National Police Hospital transferred the patient to the RSPAD on September 1, 2020.

After receiving the patient, the Army Hospital immediately reexamined him with a CT scan and chest exam.

The CT scan results showed that there was no head fracture or bleeding from the victim’s head.

However, as shown in the photo of the chest, there are injuries. So the RSPAD decided to do a bronchoscopy or medical treatment for the lungs and respiratory tract of the patient.

“There was bleeding in the upper pulmonary tract, there was a blood clot that closed the airway, which made the lungs in the chest photo clouded, so it seemed like they didn’t want to develop,” Bambang said.

“After the bronchoscopy, this morning the saturation is 95 to 99 percent, which means that the quality of her breathing has improved,” added Bambang.
