Lionel Messi is said to stay and complete the final year of his contract at Barcelona. Will go next year.

Messi since last week wanted to leave Barcelona and activate a clause to terminate the contract immediately. There is a clause in his contract that the 33-year-old can leave at any time, as long as he declares his intention to management before the season ends.
But Barcelona believe that the clause was lost in June. Lionel Messi’s camp argued that the validity period automatically follows the season trip delayed due to the pandemic.
In an effort to stop Messi, Barcelona highlighted that there are still other clauses, namely the buy-out clause worth € 700 million, which are also active. If Messi really wants to leave, someone has to compensate for that clause.
The funny thing is that the media believe that this clause no longer applies since Messi entered the last year of his contract.
The two parties met for the first time on Wednesday (2/9/2020) afternoon local time. Messi was represented by his father, Jorge Messi, while Barcelona was represented by President Josep Maria Bartomeu. There has been no positive point from the meeting with both parties still defending their respective claims.
The only positive thing about the meeting was that the two parties spoke in a calm atmosphere and were open to further conversations. Well, Arevalo claims that Messi has a good chance of staying a season before finally leaving next summer.
“There is a 90% chance that Messi will stay in Barcelona. A final decision will be made on Thursday,” he tweeted.
“Messi is seriously considering staying at Barcelona until 2021 and leaving in style when his contract expires,” added Arevalo.
