Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

President of DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Mrs. Maharani hope West Sumatra become a province that supports the Pancasila state. This was conveyed by announcing the candidate pairs for the PDIP-supported regional top candidates in the 2020 Regional Elections.

Puan did not explain the meaning of the statement. He only announced PDIP’s support for Mulyadi-Ali Mugni.

“For the province of West Sumatra, recommendations are given to Ir. Mulyadi and Drs. H. Ali Mukhni. Freedom! May West Sumatra become a province that does support the state of Pancasila,” Puan said at an event conducted virtually by the PDIP DPP, on Wednesday (2/9).

PDIP President General Megawati Soekarnoputri also highlighted the political choices of the citizens of West Sumatra.

Mega said there are several regions where the majority of its citizens are reluctant to vote for the PDIP candidates for the regional head.

He gave the example of West Sumatra. According to him, there are several requests for the establishment of DPC in this province. However, during the election, the PDIP champion lost.

In fact, Mega said, there were also many nationalist figures from West Sumatra. He said one of them was the proclaimer Mohammad Hatta.

“If I look at West Sumatra, I think why don’t people in West Sumatra seem to like PDIP?” Mega said.

During the press conference, the general secretary of the PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, explained in more detail the statements of Puan and Mega.

He said that Puan and Mega had extraordinary admiration for West Sumatra, including its culinary delights. They both only advised PDIP cadres to work harder to socialize Pancasila.

“Mbak Puan means, that all party cadres remember how Pancasila is buried. Not only in West Sumatra, but also in East Java, Jakarta and the entire NKRI territory, Pancasila must be buried,” Hasto said.
