JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Labor Minister (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah said that only about 1.9 million workers had received wage assistance or wage subsidy (BSU) from the government of 600,000 rupees a month.

“Progress is every day, as of yesterday, about 1.9 million have been distributed,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/2/2020).

The rest, Ida continued, was that the worker’s data or account number was not active, then it was returned to BPJamsostek (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) to send to the workers in order to immediately correct the invalid data.

“That is why we convey here to our co-workers that the delivery of an active account number is the most important thing, since it facilitates the transfer to our co-workers,” he appealed.

On the other hand, the government has refused to give priority to workers who use state banks (Himbara).

“Nothing (prioritize). So the government bank is the channel bank. From the channel bank, it is transferred directly to the workers ‘accounts. Some of the workers’ accounts are government bank accounts and others are private accounts,” Ida said.

“We do not differentiate and we do not require that the account be a government bank account. So, of the 1.9 million, I believe that many of the recipients are private banks,” he added.

He stressed that potential BSU recipients who have private bank accounts must be patient. Because the Himbara party needs time to spread out.

“If the account numbers are the same, it will certainly make it easier, but if the accounts are different, it certainly takes time to transfer them to the accounts of co-workers outside of Bank Himbara,” he explained.

For your information, the government has budgeted IDR 37.7 billion for wage subsidies that are distributed to 15.7 million private workers (Non-BUMN / BUMD and Non-PNS) worth IDR 600,000 per month for 4 months.

Using these criteria, the worker must earn less than IDR 5 million and be active as a BPJamsostek participant until June 30, 2020.
