BEIRUT, KOMPAS.com – French President Emmanuel Macron responds to the magazine’s satirical statement. Charlie hebdo, which will reprint cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
Speaking during a visit to Lebanon, Macron explained that it was not his place to comment on the magazine’s decision.
“It is inappropriate for the French president to comment on journalistic editorial decisions. Not at all. Because we have freedom of opinion,” he said.

The publisher’s decision to republish the cartoon has resulted in controversy. On the one hand, there are those who defend themselves by saying that they only protect freedom of expression.
But on the other hand, there are also those who see it as a provocation by a magazine known for carrying out satirical attacks on religion.
