The city of Tangerang becomes the Red Zone of Covid-19

Handling working group COVID-19 reported that 43 districts / cities experience an increased risk of Covid-19 transmission from the orange zone to the red zone, including some areas bordering DKI Jakarta, such as the city of Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, Tangerang and the regencies of Bekasi.

“From Banten are Tangerang and Kota Tangerang,” Wiku Adisasmito, spokesperson for the Covid-19 Task Force, said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (January 9).

With the addition of 43 regions, as of Sunday (8/30), a total of 65 regencies / cities in Indonesia were designated as high risk areas for spreading the red zone corona virus.


The previous week, 32 regencies / cities were in the red zone due to the spread of Covid-19. The number of red zones increased from 6.32 percent to 12.65 percent this week.

Wiku also features 43 areas that previously had a moderate risk of transmission or an orange zone, which turned into a red zone.

“We ask the 43 regencies / cities with moderate to high risk to work harder with all parties, so that their conditions can improve,” said Wiku.

The 43 areas that experience the highest risk of becoming a red zone, according to the data presented by the Task Force, are Bekasi City, Bekasi, Depok (West Java), Tangerang, Tangerang City (Banten). Also, Penajam Paser Utara (East Kalimantan), Surakarta, Semarang (Central Java) and Malang, Banyuwangi, Blitang City, Malang City, Pasuruan City, Batu City (East Java).

Then Aceh Selatan, Aceh Barat, Pidie, Aceh Barat Daya, Nagan Raya, Banda Aceh City (Aceh province). Dairi, Kota Binjai, Kota Tebing Tinggi, Kota Gunungsitoli (North Sumatra), Kota Pekanbaru (Riau).

Also, Lubuklinggau City (South Sumatra), Batam City (Riau Islands), Tabanan, Klungkung, Bangli, Karangasem (Bali), Sumbawa, Mataram City (NTB). Meanwhile, the medium risk zone or orange zone increased to 230 regions, while last week there were 222 regencies / cities. Then the green or low-risk zone fell from 189 districts / cities to 151.

“Meanwhile, there were no new cases from 41 to 42, while the unaffected decreased from 30 to 26 districts / cities,” he said.
