DENPASAR – Police are now further investigating the type of firearm used by Tri Nugraha to shoot himself in the chest in the bathroom of the Bali High Court on Monday (8/31). From the results of an interim investigation, the police discovered that the weapon he was using was not registered.
This was explained by Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Pol Jansen Avitus Panjaitan on Tuesday (January 9). He explained that at the time the Denpasar Police were helping the Bali Regional Police to deepen this case, including finding out the origin of the firearms used by Tri Nugraha.
“Polresta helps to deepen, even to explore the origins of why it can be retained by the interested party. Because from the results of the verification, senpi is not registered, that is, senpi is illegal,” he explained.
Regarding why Tri Nugraha might have these illegal firearms, Kombes Jansen explained that his party was still conducting an investigation. Including investigating whether there is an element of negligence and the extent of the negligence.
“The element of negligence is being investigated to what extent. Polda’s team will explore why the senpi is in (Tri Nugraha) hands,” he explained.
Earlier it was reported, from the TKP investigation at the scene of the incident, the police had also seized a pistol containing 5 whole bullets. In addition, a projectile was also secured at the scene. Regarding the types of weapons, more research will also be carried out.
“We will identify the firearms while we first identify whether they are assembled or not. I cannot transmit the types of projectiles that are still housed with five and one that has been used,” said Direskrimum Polda Bali, Kombes Pol Dodi Rahmawan on Monday (31 / 8/2020).
Monday (8/31/2020) is the umpteenth time that Tri has been investigated at the Bali Public Prosecutor’s Office after being named a suspect in a money laundering and gratification case (TPPU). Tri Nugraha arrived at the Bali Senior Prosecutor’s Office around 10:00 am and according to procedure, all guest belongings must be placed in a locker. In addition, the suspect is examined.
After being checked for several hours, in the afternoon he said goodbye. The reason is for prayers and lunch. At that time, Tri was not yet in prison. It is still free.
It turned out that until 3pm, Tri never returned to the Bali Public Prosecutor’s Office, Jalan Tantular, Denpasar. At the time, investigators from the Bali Attorney General’s Office were searching for his whereabouts. And information was obtained that Tri Nugraha was at his home, in Jalan Gunung Talang, Padangsambian, West Denpasar.
Then the investigation team with two officials from the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office arrived. And sure enough, Tri was at home. He was taken to the Bali Senior Prosecutor’s Office. He also carried a small bag, which was later found to contain a firearm. This weapon was fired at his chest in the bathroom of the Bali Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday night.
Tri Nugraha is suspected of receiving gratuities (gifts) for being a civil servant. He had been the director of BPN Denpasar and badung. As a civil servant, the price of his wealth is also considered unnatural, he owns 250 hectares of land in Lubuk Linggau, South Sumatra, then 12 luxury vehicles, Harley and Ducati motorcycles and assets in the form of houses and others in various areas. .
It was discovered after he became a witness in a fraud and money laundering crime case committed by the former governor of Bali, Ketut Sudikerta. In Sudikerta’s case of defrauding the head of Maspion, Tri’s role was to produce certificates of land that turned out to be someone else’s property. As a reward for his “services”, Tri received billions of rupees. That also paved the way for Tri to be targeted by the Bali Prosecutor’s Office in gratification cases and other TPPUs.
However, before the case went to court, Tri Nugraha shot himself in the left chest in the bathroom of the Bali Prosecutor’s Office. To death. That was shortly before he was taken to Kerobokan Prison for arrest by the prosecution.
