An active case is someone who has been confirmed positive and is being treated in a hospital or in isolation.
“The regency / city with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is the city of Semarang with 2,317 active cases,” Wiku said at a press conference from BNPB’s office, Jakarta, on Monday (8/31 / 2020).
Followed by Central Jakarta with 1,916 active cases, the city of Medan 1,432 active cases, the city of Surabaya 1,355 active cases.
Then South Jakarta 1,338 active cases, East Jakarta 1,327 active cases, North Jakarta 1,276 active cases, Makassar city 1,209 active cases, and West Jakarta 1,135 active cases.
Therefore, Wiku asked regional leaders and health workers in nine cities with active cases above 1,000 to improve the performance of Covid-19 management.
“This should be a concern for regional leaders and health workers, of course, as well as for all members of the community so that they can really anticipate this and encourage these cases to be cured, so that the situation improves,” said Wiku. .
The number of districts / cities that currently have active Covid-19 cases is 488 out of a total of 514 regions. “There are 93 districts / cities or 18 percent of the regions that currently do not have active cases,” he said.
Furthermore, Wiku also mentioned that there are 93 or 18 percent of districts / cities where there are no active cases in Indonesia.
