JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for almost six months, since President Joko Widodo announced the first case on March 2, 2020.
However, so far the government has stated that there is no indication that the transmission of the coronavirus has decreased.
There is still a transmission of the virus scientifically called SARS-Cov-2 in the community, so the number of cases of Covid-19 in the country continues to grow.
According to government data as of Monday (8/31/2020) at 12:00 WIB, there were 2,743 additional new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
This addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 174,796 people since the start of the pandemic.

This information was relayed by the government through the Covid-19 Working Group to journalists on Monday afternoon. The data is also published on the Covid19.go.id website.
A total of 2,743 new cases of Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 15,305 specimens a day.
During this period, 14,566 people were sampled for the sample examination.
In total, the government has examined 2,239,642 specimens per day from 1,297,184 people sampled.
This means that a person can have the sample examined more than once.

The patient recovered and died
The government also expressed hope with data showing that more and more Covid-19 patients are recovering.
In one day, it became known that there were 1,774 additional Covid-19 patients who were deemed cured and were no longer infected with the corona virus.
They were declared cured after testing the method. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.
Thus, the total number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered to date has a total of 125,959 people.

However, the government continues to deliver sad news with the addition of Covid-19 patients who have died.
In the period from January 30 to 31, 2020, 74 Covid-19 patients died after contracting Covid-19.
Thus, the total number of Covid-19 patients who died in Indonesia reached 7,417 people.
In addition to the positive case data, the government also said that there are 79,320 people who are currently suspected of being related to the transmission of the corona virus.
Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all provinces of the country or in 34 provinces, from Aceh to Papua.
In particular, 488 districts / cities in 34 provinces have been affected by corona virus infection.
This number has increased by one region, compared to yesterday’s data.
