JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 pandemic has been going on for almost six months in Indonesia. However, so far there have been no signs of reduction in transmission of the corona virus.
The government through the Covid-19 Management Working Group shows data that the transmission of the corona virus still occurs in the community. As a result, the number of Covid-19 cases continues to grow.
According to government data as of Sunday (8/30/2020) at 12:00 WIB, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is known to have reached 172,053 people since the first case was announced on March 2, 2020.
This number was due to the addition of 2,858 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
This information was relayed by the Covid-19 Working Group in a compilation of data presented to journalists on Sunday afternoon.

Jakarta holds the highest record
Of the 2,858 new cases reported, DKI Jakarta was the province with the highest daily number of cases, with 1,094 cases.
The addition of cases in DKI at the same time broke the record for the addition of previous daily cases in this province, that is, on August 29 up to 888 people.
The other five provinces with the next highest number of daily cases were East Kalimantan (197 cases), East Java (466 cases), Central Java (138 cases), Riau (134 cases), and West Java (103 cases).
The sample is examined
Meanwhile, additional positive cases recorded by the Covid-19 Management Working Group became known by examining 25,934 samples in one day.

The samples were taken from 11,317 people.
In total, 2,224,337 specimens from 1,282,618 people have been examined since the start of the pandemic.
This means that a person can have the sample examined more than once.
The patient recovered and died
Meanwhile, although the number of positive Covid-19 cases continues to rise, hopes for recovery from positive patients remain high.
In one day, 1,383 Covid-19 patients who previously tested positive have now been declared cured.
They were declared cured after polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing was negative for corona virus.
Therefore, the total number of patients who are now considered cured and who are no longer infected with the corona virus comes to 124,185 people.

However, there is still sad news with the addition of Covid-19 patients who have passed away.
In the period from August 29 to 30, 2020, 82 patients with Covid-19 died.
Therefore, the death rate from Covid-19 in Indonesia reached 7,343 people.
Apart from the positive cases, the government also announced that there were 77,951 people with suspicions related to Covid-19.
Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all provinces or 34 provinces of the country, from Aceh to Papua.
Currently, 487 districts / cities in 34 provinces have been affected by the transmission of the corona virus.
