KOMPAS.com – Anjas (23), a resident of Jalan Barukang 3, Makassar and two of his colleagues Iqbal (22) and Amar (18) were victims of police shootings on Sunday (8/30/2020).
Anjas, who suffered head injuries, was in critical condition and pronounced dead while being treated at Bhayangkara Hospital.
Meanwhile, Iqbal and Amar suffered gunshot wounds to their calves.

According to Jawad, Anjas’s father started the incident when his son allowed him to stay at a friend’s house because he wanted to go to the fish auction.
While in the house, Jawad heard several shots. However, he was not sure the chronology that the boy could be shot.
The shooting incident was around 01.30 WITA. Jawad confirmed that when the shooting took place, there were no group wars around the scene.
“I also don’t know the story because victim 3 was shot. When Binmas screamed, don’t shoot, he just stopped shooting. That’s all Binmas shook because he was almost shot,” Jawad said while at Bhayangkara Hospital in Makassar.
He said he obtained information if the police fired the shot.
“When he stopped, residents were chasing him. There was no war all of a sudden,” Jawad said.

Meanwhile, Makassar Port Police Chief AKBP Kadarislam said police fired warning shots as residents yelled at robbers.
