KOMPAS.com – Residents of Boneatiro Village, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, were excited by an announcement on the online buying and selling site OLX, saying that Pulau Pendek was sold.
According to the Kompas.com search, the island, which covers an area of 242.04 hectares, was sold at a price of Rs 36,500 per square meter.
“I didn’t know and I was surprised that this island was selling. Because we know that this island is the residence of the customary land of our ancestors, ”said La Hasa, the only resident of the island, on Sunday (8/30/2020).
Report to the police
The same was also expressed by the Chief of West Boneatiro Village, Ilyas.
He and the residents of Pendei Island even stated that they would inform the police.
“We will meet to determine what steps should be taken to report to the police, so that follow-up can be done,” Ilyas said.
Supposedly used as a tourist spot
Ilyas said, Pulau Pendek is known for its beautiful natural charm.
Besides having a white shoreline there are also green lakes and coral reefs with abundant fish.
So it was ultimately planned to be one of the Buton Regency tourist destinations.
