JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The number of Covid-19 cases continues to grow today, Saturday (8/29/2020).

Government data as of Saturday at 12.00 WIB indicated that there were 3,308 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

This is a record of most cases added in one day. The previous record was up to 3,003 cases on Friday.

This addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 169,195.

This information was relayed by the Covid-19 Working Group in a data collection that journalists received on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, up to 3,308 new cases of Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 28,905 specimens per day.

Although the number of Covid-19 cases continues to grow, the government is raising hope by revealing that more patients are recovering.

In the same period, there were an additional 1,902 Covid-19 patients who recovered in one day.

They were declared cured after examination by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method gave negative results for the corona virus.

Thus, the total number of Covid-19 patients who recovered and were no longer infected with the corona virus reached 122,802 people.

However, there is still sad news with the addition of Covid-19 patients who have passed away.

In the past 24 hours, there have been an additional 92 Covid-19 patients who have died.

Therefore, the death rate from Covid-19 in Indonesia reached 7,261 people.

In addition, the government also stated that to date there are 76,252 people with suspicions related to the transmission of the corona virus.

So far, the Covid-19 case has been recorded in 34 provinces or all provinces of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.

In detail, there are 487 districts / cities of 34 provinces affected by the corona virus infection. The number has increased by one compared to yesterday’s data.
