Jakarta –
The government increased BPJS health rates again, this time the class I and II rates were increased from July 2020, while class III will be increased next year.
The invitation to leave the class also appeared, in fact, BPJS Health also allows it if there are people who want to go down.
However, according to the Executive Director of the Institute for the Development of the Economy and Finance (Indef) Tauhid Ahmad, there are great consequences of the downward wave of the BPJS classes. First, according to Tauhid, if most people dropped out of the target class, admission would be low.
“The implication is that if rates are raised, everyone will want to go down, worried that in class III the volume of the BPJS insurance premium state revenue target will also be low,” Tauhid told AFP on Friday (15 / 05/2020).
He considered that if this was the case, the government was useless to increase tariffs, because revenues did not increase.
