There are 16,496 cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, an increase of 490

YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government stated that there is still transmission of the corona virus in the community, causing the Covid-19 case in Indonesia to continue to increase.

Based on data entered until Friday (05/15/2020) 12.00 WIB. There have been 490 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

The addition caused a total of 16,496 Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, as the first case was announced on March 2, 2020.

This was revealed by a government spokesperson for the management of the crown virus Achmad Yurianto at a press conference in Graha BNPB Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

“In today’s performance we have 490 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19, with a total of 16,496 people,” said Yurianto.

Of the 16,496 people who tested positive for Covid-19, there were 16,272 who were assessed by the test method. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and 224 people with rapid molecular tests (TCM).

The same data also shows that there were an additional 285 Covid-19 patients who recovered within one day.

The certainty of recovery was obtained after the patient underwent two examinations by the PCR method and negative results for coronavirus.

Thus, a total of 3,803 Covid-19 patients have been cured from all hospitals and care facilities in Indonesia.

However, Yurianto also passed on the sad news that there were still patients who had died after testing positive for the coronavirus.

There were 33 additional Covid-19 patients who died in the period 14-15 May 2020.

Thus, a total of 1,076 Covid-19 patients died during the Covid-19 registry in Indonesia.

“These data reflect that the addition of confirmed positive cases continues to increase,” said Yurianto.
