Harianjogja.com, SLEMANThe government is now stepping up mass testing with rapid tests to quickly find people suspected of being infected with Covid-19.
Sleman’s Regency Government (Pemkab) will conduct random mass rapid tests at crowded centers. This is an attempt to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, so as not to open new clusters.
“We will be doing a random sampling, it may be at the mall or other crowded places,” said Sleman’s deputy regent, Sri Muslimatun, after receiving disaster response assistance from the DIY BUMN Regional National Disaster Task Force at the Sakina Idaman Hospital, Wednesday (05/13/2020)
These random quick test locations can be done at supermarkets like Superindo or Lottemart. But it could also be in crowded traditional markets up to the Covid-19 booth in the village, which is a gathering place for residents.
“We don’t want more mall groups, so we will do it randomly,” said the vice president.
Supermarkets have a higher transmission potential than traditional markets. Consumers have to queue long, unlike traditional markets that are directly related to merchants. Still, traditional markets have yet to implement distance protection, and there are still merchants who don’t wear masks.
Associated with the Indogrosir group, Muslimatun said there were around 1,500 who would undergo a rapid test. Today is the second day, and based on the target per day, there are 500 consumers taking a quick test. The first day of yesterday 460 people attended and there were 20 who were reactive.
“Today we still do not have reports, but yesterday 20 reactive people were detained to be quarantined in Wisma Haji,” he said.
This amount is not as large as the prediction. They will then be collected and then undergo a second rapid test. If the results are reactive, they will be sent with a swab.
Sleman’s regency government also continues to do a search, related to the spread in Indogrosir. Until now, the employee who was first infected was not known until it was transmitted to other employees.
DIY Subardi VI House of Representatives Committee Member said, this assistance was from BUMN Korwil DIY. BUMN is a member of Commission VI, which always coordinates the management of Covid-19. Today it is distributed in Sleman, after yesterday in the city of Yogyakarta. While three other regencies of the city soon followed.
