YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – BPJS Health contributions increase again. This increase is regulated in Perpres Number 64 of 2020 with respect to the Second Amendment to Perpres Number 82 of 2018 regarding Health Insurance.

The regulation was signed by President Joko Widodo on Tuesday (5/5/2020).

The increase in contributions for the independent participants of the segments of non-salaried workers (PBPU) and non-employees (BP) is regulated in Article 34. The increase will take effect on July 1, 2020.

The increase for independent participants of classes I, II and III is detailed below:

– Class I: contributions of independent Class I participants increased to Rp 150,000, from currently Rp 80,000

– Class II: the rates for independent Class II participants increased to Rp 100,000, from the current Rp 51,000

– Class III: contributions of independent Class III participants also increased from Rp. 25,500 to Rp. 42,000

For class III, the government grants a subsidy of Rp 16,500 so that what is paid remains Rp. 25,500.

However, in 2021 the subsidy paid by the government will be reduced to Rp. 7,000, so class III participants must pay Rp. 35,000.

Late last year, Jokowi also raised BPJS’s health contribution rates through 2019 Presidential Regulation 75 on Health Insurance.
