Indonesian Covid-19 case reaches 14,749, government denies relaxation of PSBB

YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The transmission of the Corona virus that causes Covid-19 cases continues to increase in Indonesia.

According to data entered as of Tuesday (05/12/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 484 additional cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The number of new cases has led to a cumulative total of 14,749 Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, counting from the first case announced on March 2, 2020.

This was revealed by the government spokesman for the management of the Corona virus Achmad Yurianto at a press conference in Graha BNPB on Tuesday afternoon.

“The case that we have confirmed that Covid-19 increased by 484 people, to 14,749 people,” said Achmad Yurianto.

Meanwhile, positive confirmation of Covid-19 is obtained through two methods, namely polymerase chain reaction test (PCR) and rapid molecular tests (TCM).

There were 14,557 Covid-19 cases obtained from PCR tests. Then 192 based on results of rapid molecular tests.

So far, Covid-19 cases have been reported in 376 districts / cities in 34 provinces in Indonesia.

The patient recovered and died.

The same data also shows that there were an additional 182 Covid-19 patients who were declared cured.

The government claims that patients recover if twice the results of the PCR examination show a negative corona virus.

As of Tuesday, a total of 3,063 Covid-19 patients had been cured.

However, there is still good news about the addition of patients who died after suffering from Covid-19.
