70 percent of the positive cases of Corona virus (COVID-19) are in Java. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recommends the application of Java’s large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
The recommendation was delivered by BNPB Chief Secretary (Sestama) Harmensyah in a virtual meeting with Committee VIII of the House of Representatives on Tuesday (05/12/2020).
“There are 70 percent of the cases in Java alone, (the cases) 82 percent died, then 56 percent were healed. We really need to implement the PSBB implementation in all of Java, it seems here,” said Harmensyah.
Harmensyah said that not all regions with positive cases of the Corona virus had implemented the PSBB. For this reason, it recommends regions with cases of high positive confirmation applying the CBDRS with the support of the regional and national levels.
“If we look now, not all regions have implemented the PSBB. Therefore, we recommend that regions that have a high number of positive cases or confirmations be recommended to implement the PSBB based on regional initiatives.” Harmensyah said.
The same was also previously expressed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who mentioned that 70 percent of the highest positive cases of the Corona virus were in Java. Also, the mortality rate shows 80 percent in Java.
“According to data from the task force, 70 percent of positive cases occurred in Java, then also with the highest number of deaths, 82 percent also existed in Java,” said Jokowi opening a limited meeting through from an account issued by YouTube Setpres on Tuesday (5/12/2020).
