YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Governor requested the Indonesian Ministry of Health to be transparent regarding positive Covid-19 patient data.
Anies said this during an interview with Australian media The Sydney Morning Herald and Age.
According to him, data transparency can make people more aware of the spread of Covid-19.
However, from the beginning, the Ministry of Health has never been transparent in revealing positive data from Covid-19 patients because it does not want to make people panic.

Meanwhile, Anies claimed that from January to February 2020, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had detected a Covid-19 case in Jakarta.
However, the results provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Health are inversely proportional to the monitoring reports of the DKI Provincial Government. Because, at that time, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia announced that a Covid-19 case had not yet been found in Jakarta.
“In our opinion, being transparent and informing (the public) about what needs to be done is one way to provide a sense of security. Anies also said that the death rate of Covid-19 in Jakarta was higher than the national death rate due to Covid-19 released by the Central Government so far.

This refers to the body burial data with the protocol to deploy the bodies of Covid-19 patients owned by the Jakarta City Department of Parks and Forests.
4,300 bodies were buried in the second half of March 2020 and 4,590 bodies were buried in April 2020.
