AMBON, KOMPAS.com – A monitoring person (ODP) who died a few days ago at Dr. Haulussy Hospital in Ambon tested positive for Covid-19.

However, the patient’s funeral was not in accordance with the procedure for the burial of Covid-19 patients’ bodies.

Maluku province Covid-19 Handling Task Force spokesman Meykal Pontoh said the patient who died had the initials DAS.

Pontoh explained the timeline of the incident.

According to Pontoh, patients with the initials DAS were admitted to Haulussy Hospital in Ambon with symptoms of kidney disease on April 22, 2020.

“The victim was hospitalized on April 22 with the main symptoms of kidney failure, when the victim’s rapid test results were also negative (not reactive),” Pontoh said in the Maluku Governor’s Office on Monday (05 / 11/2020).

However, the medical team continued to take fluid samples from the patient’s throat because her husband had a history of traveling to the Covid-19 red zone area.

Throat fluid samples were sent to Balitbangkes Jakarta for analysis.

However, the patient died on May 7, 2020. At that time, the results of the patient’s laboratory tests had not yet come out.

The patient was immediately taken by his family to his hometown in the West Seram district. The funeral also took place in general.
