Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The chairman of the Covid-19 Task Force to Accelerate Manipulation of Doni Monardo revealed the sectoral ego problems of various agencies when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) In Indonesia. One of them is the process of examining samples in a laboratory that is not yet integrated.

Doni said the results of the review were not reported to the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, but were only reported to relevant authorities.

The laboratories currently in use belong to various ministries / institutions, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Supervision Agency (BPOM), universities, BUMN, and the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Health.



“On the sectorial ego problem, so all the agencies that have this laboratory have not been integrated and until now all the laboratories have only reported to their vertical agencies,” Doni said in a press conference through the transmission in I live from the Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat, on Monday (11/5).

For this reason, Doni requested that the results of the laboratory examination also be reported directly to the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force. Therefore, the data presented to the public becomes consistent and more accurate.

“This is where the challenge is that we invite all laboratory managers to prioritize reporting to the working group so that in the future the laboratory reports can be parallel. Keep reporting to vertical agencies and also to the working group , so that the data we present is more precise, “he said.

On the other hand, the three-star General TNI admitted that the ability to examine samples in various laboratories was not yet stable. According to him, the inspection laboratory generally only operates from Monday to Friday.

Meanwhile, Doni is currently trying to provide virtual training and add lab staff, including recruiting TNI and Polri members. With the incorporation of personnel, it is expected that the inspection process can be carried out 24 hours dividing three hours of work.

“To increase the ability to examine specimens every day throughout the laboratory. Including the efforts of the task force provides incentives for laboratory workers because we continue to pursue over time,” he said.

In a meeting with the DPR oversight team last week, Doni relayed three problems encountered in dealing with the crown pandemic. In addition to illness, it also faces the problem of government bureaucracy and sectoral egos.

The opening of the operational mode of transport by Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi in the midst of the homecoming ban was also the center of attention. Doni also briefly emphasized that going home is still prohibited.
