Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Achmad Yurianto said the graph of crown virus cases in Indonesia has tended to fluctuate over the past week.
“Last week’s data has seen fluctuations in various regions. In some areas there are some consistent and others are increasing,” Yuri said at a press conference at the Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) on Sunday ( 10/5).
Yuri said that in the past few days there have also been significant cases of additions. Therefore, the graphic pattern of the Covid-19 case in Indonesia has not been consistent.
This, according to Yuri, shows that the process of transmission of the corona virus continues to occur in the community.
Yuri said at the beginning of the appearance of this case, the spread pattern was observed from the distribution of people with Covid-19 symptoms.
“But in its development, this image is no longer a feature of the Covid-19 virus. We found many people labeled positive for PCR with mild symptoms. No heat or cough,” Yuri said.
“This is what we later call OTG (people without symptoms),” he added.
Yuri recalled the importance of using masks by the community to break the chain of spread of the virus.
“When this person (OTG) is in the middle of the community, he doesn’t wear a mask, he makes close contact with vulnerable groups, so this is what causes the transmission,” he said.
However, the appeal of this government, according to some circles, is inconsistent and is often not in line between recourse and practice in the field. Andre Rosiade, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives of the Gerindra Party Faction, criticized the government’s inconsistency regarding the prohibition on returning home. If residents were previously prohibited from returning to their homes, the government said yesterday that there was relief for certain situations for the community, so that they were allowed to return to their homes.
As of Sunday (10/5) today, the number of patients with a positive crown or Covid-19 in Indonesia, was registered at 14,032 people. Of that number, 973 people died and 2,698 were declared cured.
