KOMPAS.com – Juriah could not hide his sadness when he received news of the fate of his son, Ari (25), who was cast into the sea without his consent.
However, what made Juriah more devastated was that she claimed that she was unable to contact Ari since she worked as a crew for the Chinese ship Long Xing 629.
“I never called and we couldn’t call either,” said Ari’s father.

Juriah, when he met at his home in Serdang Menang Village, in Sirah sub-district, Pulau Padang Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) of South Sumatra, said that Ari had been traveling for 14 months.
During that time, he never heard from Ari, who had become the backbone of the family.
Then one day someone claimed that Ari’s boss called and asked him to go to Jakarta. You were also asked to provide an account number.
“The second is asking for an account with me, in the end three days later he sent me to Jakarta, (apparently) my son died,” Juriah said.
Their hearts broke when they discovered that Ari’s body had been banned without the consent of the family.
Juriah hopes that the case affecting his son will soon be fully investigated.
A letter in Chinese
The family of ABK Sepri, a resident of Serdang Menang Village, Sirah Pulau Padang District, Ogan Komering Ilir, South Sumatra, experienced the same.
According to Sepri’s sister Rita Andri Pratama, at Kompas.com, on Saturday (09/05/2020), the family received news of pain from the company through a letter in Chinese language.
After being translated, the letter explained that Sepri had died and her body had been buried at sea.
The family questioned why Sepri’s body was ejected from the sea and not sent to Indonesia.
At that time, the company claimed that they were unable to contact the family because communication was difficult.
“According to the company, Meksi received treatment and was infused by the ship’s media team. It turned out that Sepri’s life could not be saved,” said Rita.
