But if you have a recurring desire for certain (usually unhealthy) foods, it could be a sign that your body is slightly out of sync in the body.

1. Salty or high-salt foods
Salt or sodium is needed for muscle function in the body. For most cases, the craving for salt is just a preference at the moment for something tasty and absolutely nothing to worry about.
Sometimes the desire to eat salty foods can be the way your body tries to correct mineral imbalances in the body, such as dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, for example.
Both can be caused by vomiting and diarrhea or excessive sweating.
2. Sweet or high-sugar foods
When you really want to eat foods high in sugar, like donuts, it could be a reflection of your blood sugar condition.
Jo said the sweet food cravings are likely due to her low blood sugar.
“Sugar is the most efficient way for the body to produce energy. So when you lack energy, you may want something sweet. The problem is, when you are looking for a sweet snack, it can cause your blood sugar to drop. shoot, which is followed by a desire for more sweet food. ” Jo said.
To avoid this, Jo recommends that you try to contain your carbohydrate intake regularly throughout the day to maintain your blood sugar balance.
If you have sweet foods, try eating them with other dishes, so you can reduce the risk of sugar spikes.
3. chocolate
Many say that the desire to eat chocolate indicates a lack of magnesium in the body.
However, although chocolate does contain magnesium, there are other foods that are a much better source of magnesium.
Jo believes that the desire to eat chocolate may also reflect someone’s low blood sugar.
Furthermore, the need for chocolate can also be an indicator of stress in someone.
“Chocolate is high in fat, sugar and fat combos make it taste amazing, but these two nutrients, from an evolutionary perspective, are beneficial for survival, so we can look for them in times of stress,” he explained.
So if you suddenly want to eat chocolate, try to start managing your stress by doing fun activities that can make you happy.
4. Carbohydrates like pasta, bread, potatoes, and rice.
Jo revealed that the desire to eat carbohydrate-rich foods is another indicator of low blood sugar.
“Carbohydrates are the same as energy, so carbohydrate cravings are generally due to low blood sugar. Cravings mainly occur when people try to reduce carbohydrates while on a diet,” he said.
5. Tea and coffee.
According to Jo, there are several reasons why we want tea or coffee. First is hydration. You need 2 to 2.5 liquids per day each, and that includes tea and coffee fluids.
Second, caffeine. Not everyone is prone to caffeine addiction, but for those who are addicted, caffeine may be a medication to relieve the headaches and stress they face.
Try to recognize the condition. If you are addicted to caffeine, gradually decrease your caffeine intake if necessary.
6. Foods high in calories and high in fat, such as french fries and hamburgers
If you suddenly love them, the reason may be psychological rather than physical.
“The desire for fatty foods may be just a kind of emotional release. Because if we eat a lot of low-fat, low-calorie foods, there may be a biological need to look for high-calorie, high-fat foods,” Jo said.
