SpaceX will bring astronauts from the United States into space

The US Space Agency. In the USA, NASA will send American astronauts back to the ISS International Space Station, after being detained for almost 10 years. This was announced on Friday (04/17). NASA is collaborating with the private company SpaceX to carry out the delivery of the astronauts. This was stated by NASA Director Jim Bridenstine. The ISS International Space Station is about 400 km from the earth’s surface.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carry two astronauts, namely Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken. The rocket will be launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

So far only Russia, the United States, and China have managed to send astronauts into space. The first mission was launched in 1961. SpaceX was the first private company to ship astronauts. In 2015, the company set a historical record for successfully developing and launching reusable rockets.

Last year, SpaceX successfully sent a rocket carrying a doll to the ISS station. The company, founded by businessman Elon Musk, has been sending cargo to the ISS with Falcon 9 rockets since 2012.

The Crew Dragon Capsule that will be used to transport two astronauts in May is a modified version of the capsule used to transport cargo on previous missions.

Currently, on the ISS two Russian cosmonauts and one American astronaut are on the ISS. After getting there, Hurley and Behnken will spend weeks or months working in the ISS lab.

NASA is also in the process of ordering an additional location on a Russian rocket to transport its astronauts. Since 2011, Soyuz from Russia has been transporting the entire crew to the ISS and returning to land. ml / yp (afp, ap)
