KOMPAS.com – Now 1,300 VA and 900 unsubsidized VA customers can get discounts on electricity rates as a form of assistance amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Cinta Anak Bangsa Foundation (YCAB) grants the maximum discount of Rp 100,000 per month in collaboration with PLN through the Light Up Indonesia program.
Previously, PLN had provided 450 VA customers free electricity and a 50 percent discount for 900 VA customers during the periods of April, May, and June 2020.
But for disadvantaged people living in urban areas who are generally unsubsidized 900 VA and 1,300 VA clients, these subsidies have not been felt enough.
This condition inspired Light Up to raise funds for disadvantaged families to ease the burden of paying their electricity rates.
