KOMPAS.com – Scientists found prehistoric dinosaur footprints on the ceiling of a cave in France.

Although attached to the ceiling of the cave up to 1.25 meters, it does not mean that in the past giant dinosaurs could stick to the wall like a Spider-Man.

This impressive view shows the wealth of prehistoric discoveries that are hidden around us.

Researchers from the University of Burgundy-Franche-Comté discovered three dinosaur paths during a 2015 expedition around the Castelbouc cave, located below the Causse Méjean plateau in southern France.

In the discovery report published in the journal Vertebrate Paleontology, experts wrote that the dinosaur footprints were probably between 166 and 168 million years old.

Interestingly, the footprints are in such good condition that the claws, fingers and soles are clearly visible.

The expert believes that these footprints have some of the largest dinosaurs known worldwide.

From the estimated age, dinosaurs are known to have originated in the Middle Jurassic era when sauropod dinosaurs evolved.

But from the size of the footprints left, experts suspect that it belongs to titanosaurs, a group of long-necked sauropods and that it is the largest land animal in history. It is like the 121-meter-long Patagotitan that used to roam southern Argentina.
