KOMPAS.com – Closer to the sun, astronomers show a rare view of the sun’s atmosphere. This epic image shows a plasma thread that has never been seen before.

The sighting is the closest view to the very hot layer of the Sun’s outer corona.

In fact, this image successfully revealed a structure that had never been seen before and that was hidden within an area that used to look empty or dark.

Launching Science alertOn Monday (04/13/2020), this latest high-resolution image revealed a magnetic wire 500 kilometers wide, with millions of plasma flowing in it.

This discovery brings new insights into the atmosphere of the largest stars in this galaxy.

The original data was captured by the high-resolution coronal imager (Hi-C) in 2018. This telescope is designed to take high-resolution images of the Sun’s corona.

According to solar physicist Robert Walsh of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in England, astronomers have so far effectively observed our nearest star in standard definition.

“While the exceptional quality of Hi-C data allows us to examine a patch of the Sun in ultra high definition for the first time,” said Walsh.

This ultra HD view means that parts of the Sun that were previously invisible can now be seen clearly.

Furthermore, these data provide more information on how the Sun’s mysterious magnetic atmosphere was formed.
