KONTAN.CO.ID – YAKARTA. PT Siloam International Hospital Tbk (SILO) has analyzed at least 30,000 samples for the coronavirus test. This was done as part of Siloam’s seriousness in assisting the government in efforts to prevent the spread of the crown (Covid-19).

“We see the importance of testing, helping medical staff to manage better because many crown patients have become asymptomatic or asymptomatic,” said Caroline Riady, Siloam vice president-director at a webinar titled “Creating a Clean and Safe Hospital in the pandemic period “on Thursday (4/30).

So far, Siloam’s lab has tested at least 5,000 samples with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 25,000 samples with the rapid test method.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has requested that the Covid-19 test be replicated using the community PCR method. The objective is to break the chain of the Corona virus.

In addition to asking for more tests, Jokowi also asked regions to massively increase test samples and aggressively track and then strictly isolate them.

Caroline continued, Siloam’s Covid-19-19 test lab had a high standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and was able to process the tests quickly and accurately.

“We have a quality lab and tools that meet government needs standards, we have also performed PCR tests as a way to support the government to speed up the handling of COVID-19,” said Caroline.

The presence of the Siloam laboratory helped the government speed up tests to reduce sample accumulation, especially in the Covid-19 epicenter area. Additionally, the government is targeting more than 10,000 specimens that can be analyzed every day.

Caroline claimed that she implemented Covid-19 treatment protocols in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards, and also implemented WHO recommendations by continuing to educate healthcare workers about coronaviruses, how to transmitted and how to protect yourself better.
